Bio

Erin Tracy is a stand-up comedian, host, and actor living in Los Angeles. She grew up in Southwest Florida as the child of public school teachers so she was essentially groomed to become a comic.

She was the winner of the 2020 San Diego Comedy Festival and was voted Best of the Fest at the 2020 Burbank Comedy Festival. She took second place in a trash talking competition at Mad Magazine and was a semi-finalist in the US Comedy Contest in 2019. Her delightful humor has been seen at the Los Angeles Diversity in Comedy Festival, the Hollywood Improv, and The Comedy Store. One of her favorite things to do is tour the country telling jokes. She has performed as a feature or headliner all over California as well as places like Utah, Hawaii, and Florida.

Since 2018, Erin has taught stand-up classes to adults and teens at The Second City Hollywood. She also offers one-on-one private coaching.

In 2020 she hosted an online talk show, Creative Crush with Erin Tracy, where she flirted for sport with some of the best creators and comedians around. She interviewed guests such as comedians Debra DiGiovanni and Mike Falzone, and choreographer Phillip Chbeeb. You can see select episodes with these fabulous folks on her YouTube channel.

Before Covid, she hosted, choreographed, and produced Dance Party Comedy Show, a stand-up show where the comedians danced before their sets. She also produced and hosted a stand-up show called Sugar Rush for over two years.

You can see Erin’s acting skills in a variety of commercials, TV shows, and short films. She is also a motion capture actor who worked on the video game Red Dead Redemption II for over two years.

Erin received her BFA from the Experimental Theatre Wing at New York University, where she won the award for Outstanding Achievement and the Founder’s Day Award. She also received her MFA in Theatre and Dance from the University of California San Diego, where she won the award for excellence in teaching.

Before making the leap to a life of comedy, Erin worked as a choreographer, director, and performer whose original dance theatre was shown in New York City, San Diego, and Tampa Bay. She performed at venues in New York such as PS 122, The Ontological Theatre at St Marks Church, BAX, Galapagos, and Dixon Place. Erin was the Artistic Director of Spec Performance, a dance theatre company in Tampa Bay with a performance series dedicated to the development of new performing art work. She was the recipient of a 2013 Individual Artist Grant from Hillsborough County for her evening-length work Verbo. She also created Foreign / Familiar Cities, a dance film and live performance hybrid as part of GenYes! an arts incubator program subsidized by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. Her collaborative dance theatre piece Better Metaphors with playwright Kristin Idaszak was shown at the Blurred Borders International Dance Festival.  Her evening-length collaborative piece Though It May Shift premiered at the La Jolla Playhouse in February 2017. While at UCSD, she also created choreography for a research project combining dance, neuroscience, and motion capture technology which studied the impact dance has on Parkinson’s Disease.

Stand Up Student Testimonials

It’s been a privilege learning stand-up from you. You are so perceptive (on multiple levels) which makes your feedback constructive and on point. You really know how to tease out the core of what we’re trying to say. It also looks like you enjoy teaching which made this class really fun too! I loved the energy and vibe you created and how you tried to foster a sense of mutual support and community amongst everyone. Thank you, truly.
— Hélène R.
I want to say you really are such an awesome teacher. You have such a good balance of encouragement and helpful feedback. I always always appreciated your feedback in class. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart! I really value the teachers I’ve had in my life and you are one to remember!
— Lynn M,
... thank you for an awesome weekend. I’ve had my fair share of weekend bootcamps, so I say this from experience. You have put together a really nice program. And the final night-show was a great highlight... You put together a real comedy show in one weekend with a group of amateurs, present company included. I know that’s not easy but it’s appreciated.
— Timothy S.
I wanted to say thank you again for everything over the last several weeks - you have been an amazing instructor and mentor and I really appreciate all of the extremely helpful feedback and guidance you have provided. I enjoyed class a lot and feel as though I learned so much.
